Mathilde Ade

Mathilde Ade (born September 8, 1877 in Sárbogárd in Hungary, † 1953 in Munich ) was a German-Hungarian graphic artist .

Life

Mathilde Ade was trained at the Munich School of Applied Arts and then worked for the Meggendorfer-Blätter . She created illustrations for children's books and u. a. the children's simplicissimus with self-composed rhymes. She also made at least 200 bookplates , some as lithographs and etchings , but most of them are mechanical reproductions.
