Matiacoali (also Matiakoali ) is both a municipality ( French commune rurale ) and a department encompassing the same area in the West African state of Burkina Faso , in the region of Est and the province of Gourma . The community has 54,574 inhabitants.
The Tapoa River has its source in Matiacoali .
