Georgina Leigh Bloomberg (born January 20, 1983 in New York City ) is an American show jumper and the youngest daughter of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg .

Equestrian sport

Georgina Bloomberg was one of the youngest participants in the FEI World Cup Finals and, as a member of the US team, won first places in Nations Cups several times . She achieved her best position in the world rankings in December 2006 with the 112th place. 2008 was Georgina in the extended squad of the US Olympic team. Bloomberg won gold at the North American Young Riders Championship in 2003 and has been competing in the FEI World Cup since then . In November 2010, she fell during the Gamblers Choice Competition , a costume jumping event , as part of the Syracuse Invitational Sporthorse Tournament in the USA when the saddle of her Radio City horse came off. After the fall, Bloomberg was initially unconscious, but was able to leave the course on foot. She suffered a concussion and fractured her spine.

At the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, she was part of the US team that won the bronze medal here. In the individual ranking she came in 18th place with Lilli .

Private life

Georgina is the youngest daughter of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his ex-wife Susan Brown. Georgina grew up in the highest circles of society, because her father is one of the 50 richest Americans. But she herself shows little interest in the political and social life that goes with it. In 2003 she was one of the leading actresses in the documentary " Born Rich ". After the film was released, the father and daughter relationship was very strained for a long time. Forbes magazine named her among the 20 Most Fascinating Billionaire Children.

In the fall of 2007, her relationship with the Irish show jumper Cian O'Connor became known. From September to November 2010 she was in a relationship with speed skater Joey Cheek . Their first son was born in December 2013 and the father is the Argentinian show jumper Ramiro Quintana.

Bloomberg lives in North Salem, New York , where she has owned a $ 3,600,000 equestrian facility (Gotham North) since 2001, and in Wellington, Florida . She is close friends with the show jumper McLain Ward , from whose mother she learned to ride. Since 2003 she has been studying art and sports management on an irregular basis.
