The district Matiari is an administrative district in Pakistan in the province of Sindh . The seat of the district administration is the city of the same name Matiari .
The district has an area of 1417 km² and according to the 2017 census 769,349 inhabitants. The population density is 543 inhabitants / km². The Sindhi language is spoken by the majority in the district .
location
The district is located in the center of Sindh Province, which is located in southeastern Pakistan. Matiari is located northeast of the mega city of Karachi .

history
The district emerged in 2005 from parts of Hyderabad .
Demographics
Between 1998 and 2017 the population grew at an annual rate of 2.35% and therefore very quickly. Around 24% of the population live in urban regions and around 76% in rural regions. 396,799 men, 372,518 women and 32 transgender people live in 143,023 households , resulting in a gender ratio of 106.5 men per 100 women, which is a frequent male surplus for Pakistan.
