Hyderabad District is an administrative district in Pakistan in Sindh Province . The seat of the district administration is the city of the same name Hyderabad .

The district has an area of ​​5519 km² and according to the 2017 census 2,199,463 inhabitants. The population density is 399 inhabitants / km². Urdu is spoken by the majority in the district . Other languages ​​are Sindhi and Punjabi .

The district is located in the center of Sindh Province, which is located in southeastern Pakistan. The Indus borders the district to the west. The Kirthar National Park is located in the district.

Demographics

Between 1998 and 2017 the population grew by 2.05% annually. About 83% of the population live in urban areas and about 17% in rural areas. 1,145,788 men, 1,053,510 women and 165 transgender people live in 434,869 households , resulting in a gender ratio of 108.8 men per 100 women, which is a common surplus for Pakistan.
