Matjaž Žagar (* 1963 ) is a former Yugoslav ski jumper .

Žagar made his debut in the Ski Jumping World Cup on December 30, 1982 at the opening event for the Four Hills Tournament 1982/83 in Oberstdorf . The first few years he started exclusively on the tour, but remained unsuccessful. It was not until February 23, 1985, when he was ski flying in Harrachov , he managed to get 10th in the points and also the best placement of his career. Also on March 5, 1985 he jumped again in Örnsköldsvik in the points. At the end of the season, Žagar finished 51st in the overall World Cup ranking together with the Austrian Adolf Hirner .
