Mato is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in the northern Portuguese district of Ponte de Lima in the Minho-Lima sub-region . The community had 312 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Mato, Ardegão and Freixo were merged to form the new municipality of Ardegão, Freixo e Mato .
