Freixo is a place and a former municipality ( Freguesia ) in the northern Portuguese district of Ponte de Lima in the Minho-Lima sub-region .
The community had 1214 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the parishes of Freixo, Mato and Ardegão were merged to form the new parish Ardegão, Freixo e Mato . Freixo is the seat of this newly formed community.
