Mato Neretljak (born June 3, 1979 in Orašje , SR Bosnia and Herzegovina , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian football player .

Career

From his hometown club HNK Orašje , he moved to NK Osijek as a defender in the first Croatian league in the summer of 2000 . From 2002 to January 2006 he played for Hajduk Split , where he was twice Croatian champion (2004 and 2005), once runner-up (2003) and once cup winner (2003).

In early 2006, he moved to South Korea to Suwon Samsung Bluewings , where he was runner-up in 2006 and champion in 2008. From 2009 to 2010 he played in Japan for Ōmiya Ardija , and in 2011 he returned to Suwon Bluewings. Neretljak has been playing for Hajduk Split again since January 2012.

He made his debut for the Croatian national team on April 25, 2001 against Greece. In a total of ten international matches, he scored one goal (against Germany on February 18, 2004) and took part in the EURO 2004 in Portugal .
