Matteo Moschetti (born August 14, 1996 in Milan ) is an Italian racing cyclist.

Athletic career

Matteo Moschetti began his sporting career with football until he started cycling against his parents' wishes. At first he practiced both sports until he finally decided to go cycling when he was around 14 years old.

Moschetti had his first successes in cycling on the track . In 2014 he became Italian champion in the team pursuit , in the single pursuit he finished second.

In 2017, Moschetti won the national U23 road race title, after which he received a contract as a stagiaire with the UCI WorldTeam Trek-Segafredo . In 2018 he moved to the UCI Continental Team Polartec-Kometa , the Trek Segafredo development team led by Albert Contador and Ivan Basso . This year he achieved several stage successes, such as the Tour de Normandie and the Tour of Burgos , and as a member of the Italian national team, he won the ZLM Tour .

In the middle of the 2018 season, Moschetti returned to Trek-Segafredo as a stagiaire, and for 2019 he received an elite contract. In the same year he started his first Giro d'Italia .
