Matthäus Stang

Matthäus Stang (* 1581/2 in Burglengenfeld , † after 1625) was a draftsman and cartographer .

Life

Matthäus Stang came from Burglengenfeld and was '' as government chancellor and painter of Neuburg '' in the service of the Principality of Palatinate-Neuburg . Together with Christoph Vogel , he created a set of maps of all 26 offices in the principality between 1597 and 1605, succeeding Friedrich Seefried . This land survey is one of the most important cartographic achievements in the decades around 1600.
