Matthew J. Holman
Matthew J. Holman (* 1967 ) is an American astrophysicist and discoverer or co-discoverer of numerous irregular moons of the planets Saturn , Uranus and Neptune .
biography
He studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he also received his PhD in 1994. He currently teaches at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge , Massachusetts, USA.
Matthew Holman was a member of three different teams of astronomers (Gladman et al. , Kavelaars et al., And Holman et al. ) Who discovered the following irregular moons :
- the Saturn moons XIX Ymir , XX Paaliaq , XXI Tarvos , XXII Ijiraq , XXIII Suttungr , XXIV Kiviuq , XXV Mundilfari , XXVI Albiorix , XXVII Skathi , XXVIII Erriapus , XXIX Siarnaq and XXX Thrymr
- the moons of Uranus XVIII Prospero , XIX Setebos , XX Stephano , XXI Trinculo , XXII Francisco and XXIV Ferdinand
