Matthew "Matt" Trott (born June 9, 1985 in Gosford ) is a former Australian soccer goalkeeper .
Career
Trott played from 2002 to 2005 for Central Coast United in the NSW Premier League and then for Central Coast Lightning. In the 2005/06 and 2006/07 seasons Trott was repeatedly equipped with short-term contracts by the A-League team Central Coast Mariners to compensate for John Crawley's injury-related absence . On the last day of the 2006/07 season Trott made his league debut against Adelaide United.
For the following season he received a permanent contract with the Mariners and came as a substitute goalkeeper for Danny Vukovic to a total of five missions and at times also trained with the Australian Olympic team. When Vukovic was banned for a long time after the championship final in 2008 because of an assault against the referee, those responsible decided to release Trott from his contract in order to make room for another goalkeeper.
Since about April 2009 Trott played at the English amateur club Didcot Town , with whom he rose a short time later as the play-off winner of the Southern Football League Division One South & West in the Southern Football League Premier Division . In September 2010 he returned to Australia.
