Matthew Waterhouse (born December 16, 1961 in Hertford , Hertfordshire ) is a British actor .

Life

Waterhouse attended Shoreham Grammar School, where he obtained the A-Level . Then he worked for the BBC , on the news. He made his first television appearance in 1980 as a schoolboy in To Serve Them All My Days . From 1980 to 1984 Waterhouse played Adric, a fourth and fifth doctor's companion in the British television series Doctor Who . Waterhouse was a huge fan of the series from childhood. After Doctor Who , Waterhouse worked in the theater. He played Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream , Peter in Peter Pan and Edmund in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe , among others . In 1997 Waterhouse moved to the United States and lives in Connecticut. In the summer of 2006, Waterhouse published his first book, Fates, Flowers . The book Vanitas followed . Waterhouse is openly gay, but largely keeps his private life out of the public eye. In 2013, Waterhouse published the book Blue Box Boy: A Memoir of Doctor Who in Four Episodes . It mostly deals with his time at Doctor Who . He was also featured in several Doctor Who radio plays by Big Finish .
