Matthias Barth

Matthias Barth (* 1974 in Bamberg ) is a German environmental scientist and university professor .

Life

Barth studied environmental sciences and was a part-time research assistant (2002–2004) at the Institute for Environmental Communication at the University of Lüneburg , then a doctoral candidate (2004–2007) on the subject of "Design competence through new media? The role of learning with new media in education for sustainable" Development". He then continued to work as a postdoc (2007–2010). He also completed his habilitation in 2011 at the University of Lüneburg in Sustainability Science.

In December 2012 Barth was appointed professor at the Technical University of Ostwestfalen-Lippe . Since 2014 he has been a professor for science and education for sustainable development at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg .

Awards

The university awarded him various prizes a. a. various places in the "Best Young Researcher" (group of postdocs and junior professors, 2nd place) at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg and "Best Doctoral Researcher", as well as the in-house award "Innovative Teaching Events".
