Matthias Bronisch
Matthias Bronisch (born March 17, 1937 in Stettin ) is a German poet.
Life
After fleeing in February 1945, he lived first in Bad Essen (near Osnabrück) then in Petershagen (Weser). He completed a degree in art history, archeology and literary studies in Münster and Hamburg. He then worked as a lecturer in Novi Sad and Belgrade (Yugoslavia) for three years . From 1966 he was a trainee lawyer and teacher in Bremen, from 1971 again as a lecturer at the University of Skopje ( Macedonia ) for five years . From 1976 to 2000 he worked as a teacher in Bielefeld . Since 1978 he has been a member of the VS ( Association of German Writers ) and the PEN .
Works
Bronisch published translations from Macedonian (poetry and prose) and own poetry and prose. His texts have been translated into English, French, Romanian, Albanian and Macedonian. Publication of his poetry in his own editions and anthologies in Romania and Macedonia. In 1978 he received the "Grigor Prlicev Prize". In addition to his writing activities, he is also active in the arts (acrylic, watercolor, etching, woodcut, drawing).
