Matthias Fritz (born November 29, 1969 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Matthias Fritz comes from Forbach in Baden , where he played for SV Forbach. He graduated from high school in Gernsbach . At SV Kuppenheim he made the leap from youth A to the competition team together with Marco Grimm in the 1989/90 season , where he was the most dangerous player at the side of Alexander Ogrinc and ex-professional Konrad Koffler and scored twelve goals this season Vice championship in the Association League South Baden behind relegated league SC Pfullendorf contributed. He then moved to the upper division VFB Gaggenau , where he placed in the top ten of the goalscorer list with 13 goals this season in the 1990/01 season and recommended for higher tasks. In his games against the amateurs of the Karlsruher SC , Rainer Ulrich and Winfried Schäfer became aware of him, who brought him to Karlsruhe. Fritz played in the Bundesliga for three years with Karlsruher SC . During this time he completed 14 games. His football career was affected by frequent injuries. His only Bundesliga goal was the winning goal to make it 0-1 on May 2, 1992 in the away game at Hamburger SV. In 1994 he moved to SV Sandhausen , with whom he became champions of the league in 1994/95 and was promoted to the regional league. After two years with SVS, he joined SSV Ulm in 1846 and played for another two years in the Regionalliga Süd . After the end of his playing career, he worked as a DFB base coach and played in AH teams such as the KSC Allstars.

Fritz studied alongside his professional career at the TH Karlsruhe . He graduated with a degree in industrial engineering and works in this profession.
