Marco Grimm (born June 16, 1972 in Baden-Baden ) is a former German soccer player and current coach .

Career

Via the youth clubs FV Hörden and SV Kuppenheim ( Association League South Baden ) Grimm came to VfB Gaggenau , for which he played in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg until 1993 and won the South Baden Cup .

From the 1993/94 season he was part of the professional squad of FC Bayern Munich , for which he was only used once, in the 1994/95 season , in a Bundesliga game; this happened on April 15, 1995 (26th matchday), when he came on in the 25th minute for Thomas Helmer in the match between Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Bayern Munich. It was a special game: Bayern won 5-2 goals, but it was rated 2-0 goals for Eintracht Frankfurt because coach Trapattoni had brought on a fourth amateur with Dietmar Hamann .

In 1995 Grimm moved to VfB Stuttgart , for whom he played 32 Bundesliga games in three years and won the DFB Cup in 1997.

In 1998 Grimm moved to Austria for the Bundesliga club Grazer AK , with whom he - under coach Klaus Augenthaler - was third in the 1998/99 championship at the end of the season .

In 1999, he returned to Germany , followed by three more positions: he initially played in the 2nd Bundesliga with Karlsruher SC , then rose with him in 2000 to the Regionalliga Süd and in 2001 again. From 2003 to 2007 he played for Eintracht Braunschweig ; initially two years in the Regionalliga Nord before being promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2005 . The last two years he belonged to the squad of the second team of 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the Oberliga Südwest and Regionalliga West , where he took on the coaching post after his active time.

Grimm played 33 times in the Bundesliga, 95 times in the second division and 98 times in the upper / regional division.

Grimm has been working as a scout for his former club Karlsruher SC since 2019.
