The association for popular and recreational sports; Athletics and ball games Gaggenau 2001 eV ( VFB Gaggenau for short ) is a sports club from Gaggenau in Baden . The club owns the football and athletics departments.

history

On July 27, 1911 the Association for Movement Games Gaggenau ( VfB Gaggenau for short ) was founded. In 1946 the military authorities dissolved the association. Together with the members of TB Gaggenau and Ski Club Gaggenau, SV Gaggenau was founded as a successor. On August 5, 1950, it was renamed VfB Gaggenau.

Due to the insolvency , VfB Gaggenau was dissolved in the spring of 2001 and VFB Gaggenau was founded on April 17, 2001 as the successor association. In 2013 the club was about to merge with Türkiyemspor Selbach. The merger failed because they could not agree on a common name.

Successes (soccer)

The football department had its most successful period until the end of the 1990s, when the club played in the top German amateur football leagues for several years.

  • Champion of the Baden-Baden regional league in 2009 and promotion (South Baden regional league, season 1).

After the re-establishment as VFB Gaggenau, the footballers mostly played in the national league. After relegation from the regional league in 2014 and the regional league in 2016, the Baden-Baden North regional league is the new sporting home.

The home ground of VFB Gaggenau is the Traischbach Stadium . The stadium holds 10,000 spectators, of which 2,000 are covered seats.

The basketball department was launched on April 1, 2002 and played in the regional league.

After a year of abstinence from the league they managed in the 2009/2010 season under coach Drazan Salavarda three game days before the end of the season, the promotion to the league.
