Matthias Keidtel
Matthias Keidtel (born September 7, 1967 in Schleswig-Holstein ) is a German writer .
Life
Matthias Keidtel was born in 1967 in Schleswig-Holstein and grew up in Japan and Iran , among others , where he had to flee to Israel in 1979 before the Islamic revolution , which has given him the fear of moving and traveling that has persisted to this day. In 1989 he returned to Germany. This was followed by civil service in Frankfurt am Main with the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund - disabled people in any form have been the preferred topic of his further work ever since. From 1991 to 1997 Keidtel studied history and German at the Free University of Berlin and graduated with a Magister Artium. During a stay of several months in New York, he wrote his first novel Abgetaucht , which was published a little later by a small publisher. After various part-time jobs, such as an advertising copywriter for a Berlin tourism agency, as a cigar seller and assistant to the film management of Berlin and Leipzig Tatorte , he has been working full-time as a writer since 1998. Matthias Keidtel lives with his wife and two children in Berlin-Kreuzberg and is represented by the Petra Eggers agency.
Act
In his books, Matthias Keidtel prefers to deal with outsiders in society, people who stand apart and therefore have an even closer look at their surroundings. He was best known to a wider audience through his novel A Man Like Holm (the first part of the trilogy of the modern man ), which deals with the role of the modern man in a humorous and at the same time serious way. Critics praised the book's subtle comedy.
