Matthias Kucera (born February 17, 1972 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and lawyer. Kucera was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament from 2009 to 2019 .

education and profession

Kucera attended elementary school and grammar school in Vienna- Hietzing and then studied law at the law faculty of the University of Vienna . In 1996 he completed his studies with the academic degree Mag. Jur. from. In 2001 he passed the bar exam with excellent results. Kucera works as a lawyer, criminal defense attorney and registered trustee. He is also a member of the Disciplinary Council of the Vorarlberg Bar Association.

Political career

Matthias Kucera has been a party member of the Austrian People's Party since joining the Austrian Workers' Union in 2000. Kuchera is also a member of the Austrian Business Union. Kucera took over the first electoral office from 2005 as a substitute member of the community council in his home community Hard. After the state elections in Vorarlberg in 2009 , Kucera was sworn in for the first time as a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament on November 4, 2009. He then took on the role of area spokesman for federalism and science / R & D / UAS within the ÖVP state parliament club.

In the state elections in 2014 , Matthias Kucera was also elected as a successor candidate in the state parliament of the 30th legislative period on November 5, 2014 . He was area spokesman for the ÖVP state parliament club for social affairs and integration and was elected chairman of the integration committee of the Vorarlberg state parliament.

After a property sale in Hard, which was heavily criticized by the media and by the opposition, in which Kucera was involved as a lawyer, he resigned all political offices on March 13, 2019 with immediate effect.

Private life

Matthias Kucera lives in Hard , is married and has three children.
