Matthias Möhle (born March 26, 1959 in Peine ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He has been a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament since 2008 .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1979, Möhle began studying to be a teacher for elementary and secondary schools in Braunschweig. In 1983 he opened a shop for musical instruments and conference technology (Musik-Kiste) in Peine. From 1981 to 2003 he worked as a teacher at various music schools. From 2001 until he moved into the state parliament, Möhle was a pedagogical employee at a primary school in Peine. Matthias Möhle is married and has two sons. He is a member of the Education and Science Union (GEW) and the AWO.

Möhle joined the SPD in 1989. From 2001 to 2013 he was chairman of the local SPD association in Peine-Kernstadt. He has been a member of the district council of the Peine district since 1996 , has been deputy parliamentary group chairman since 2015 and subdistrict chairman and first deputy district administrator since 2016. He is also chairman of the supervisory board of the vocational training and employment company (BBg) and the Peiner disposal company (PEG). In the state elections in 2008, 2013 and 2017, he entered the state parliament of Lower Saxony via a direct mandate in constituency 4 (Peine) .

Matthias Möhle works in several committees in the Lower Saxony state parliament. He is chairman of the committee for science and culture and a member of the culture committee. He was a deputy in the Committee for Federal and European Affairs and the Enquetekommission for dealing with the Stasi machinations.
