Matthias Meng

Matthias Meng (* 1982 ) is a German lifeguard .

Life

After graduating from high school , Meng first played water polo and then began life swimming around 2000. In 2004 he became world champion. He started for the DLRG Magdeburg , but moved to Halle (Saale) in preparation for the 2006 World Cup . In 2006 he won gold together with Gregor Kiedorf in the line throwing relay. After ten years, at the 2016 World Championships, he again won gold in this discipline, this time together with Fabian Henning .

Professionally, Meng (as of 2016) worked as an assistant doctor at Magdeburg University Hospital .

In 2006 Meng was allowed to enter the Golden Book of the City of Magdeburg in recognition of his sporting success as a lifeguard .
