Matthias Nagel

Matthias Nagel (* 1958 in Löhne ) is a German church musician , state trombonist and composer.

Career

Nagel studied at the Herford College of Church Music and passed the B exam there in 1981 . He completed his training at the Folkwang University in Essen, where he passed the A-exam in 1984. From 1984 to 2003 he worked as a cantor in Düsseldorf-Garath . From 1985 to 1993 he taught liturgical organ playing at the Folkwang University. From 1992 to 2004 he had a teaching position at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf. From 2003 to 2009 he was church music director at the Office for Worship and Church Music of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia . In 2006 he was on the jury of the Gospel Award for television work by the Protestant and Catholic Churches and the Christian aid organization World Vision Germany

In 2009 he was appointed trombone attendant in the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland . Since April 1, 2011 he has been a lecturer for church popular music at the University of Church Music in Herford.
