Matthias Olof Eich (born July 29, 1975 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) is a German director and screenwriter . Since 1999 he has been the owner of Praetoria-Productions, a film production company. His first feature film was released in January 2010.

Life

Matthias Olof Eich is the son of a German and a Swede. After completing his apprenticeship as a carpenter in 1993, he went into his parents' business in 1995 and founded the set construction company JMP-Studio. After further training in directing, screenwriting and cinematography, he founded the film production company Praetoria-Productions in 1999, with which he produced numerous advertising films, music videos and, in 2009, his first international film Break - No Mercy, Just Pain! manufactured. The film premiered at the Sitges International Film Festival .

Between 1999 and 2003 he worked as an outfitter and set builder on the promotional tours for the film releases of the Star Wars episodes I. – III. involved.

Together with his long-time friend and actor Patrick Jahns, he founded IndieNuts in 2018 as a film distributor and online artist platform with a focus on the independent sector. The public film festival IndieNuts-Awards took place for the first time in September 2019 in Oberammergau.
