Matthias Rüb
Matthias Rüb (born June 13, 1962 in Zavelstein near Calw ) is a German journalist .
Life
Rüb grew up in Baden-Württemberg and studied philosophy, Protestant theology, politics and history in Berlin and Paris. In addition to his studies, he worked as a translator and literary critic for newspapers, magazines and radio. In 1989 he began as a trainee in the features section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and in the same year became editor of the literary newspaper . After a stopover in 1992 with the weekend supplement “Pictures and Times”, Rüb switched to the political newsroom in 1993. From 1994 he worked as a Southeast Europe correspondent in Budapest , in 2002 he moved to Washington for eleven years as a correspondent for the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. From August 2013 to January 2018 he reported from São Paulo for the Latin American continent. Since then he has worked from Rome as a correspondent for Italy, the Vatican, Albania and Malta.
