Matthias Schoder (born July 20, 1982 in Winterthur ) is a former Swiss ice hockey goalkeeper who was most recently under contract with EHC Visp in the Swiss National League B.

Career

Schoder began his career with the juniors of the EHC Winterthur . In 2001 he switched to the GCK Lions , where he alternated with the GCK and the partner team ZSC Lions . In the 2003/04 season he was loaned to SC Langnau for a few games . After another season at ZSC and GCK, he saw no further prospects in Zurich , as he could not oust regular goalkeeper Ari Sulander . That's why he moved to the SCL Tigers in 2005. After five successful years in the Emmental , Matthias Schoder switched to the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers for the 2010/11 season . He was there as a substitute goalkeeper behind regular goalkeeper Daniel Manzato . In January 2011, Schoder was signed by the EHC Visp . He signed a two-year contract there, which was valid from the 2011/12 season. He ended his active career at the end of the 2016/17 season.

International

Matthias Schoder represented his home country at the U18 Junior World Championship in 2000 and at the U20 Junior World Championship in 2002 , with fourth place in both tournaments. At the 2002 tournament he was a substitute goalkeeper behind Tobias Stephan and only played one role.
