Matthias Ude

Matthias Ude (born March 22, 1972 ) is a German American football coach and former player.

career

From 1992 he played with the Quickborn Destroyers, in 1993 Ude switched to the Hamburg Blue Devils , for whom he was the linebacker until 2001 . The 1.82 meter tall player won the German championship twice and the Eurobowl three times with Hamburg . When he left the devils, he was statistically the best defender in team history at the time. In 1999 he also worked for Rhein Fire in the NFL Europe  . With the German national team he became European champion in 2001.

For the 2019 season he joined the coaching staff of the second division Elmshorn Fighting Pirates . At the Elmshorners, he took care of the linebackers under head coach Jörn Maier and was thus involved in the team's first promotion to the top German division, GFL , in 2019 .
