Matthias Weber (basketball player)

Matthias Weber (born December 1, 1980 in Darmstadt ) is a former German basketball player on the wing position. Weber played 119 times for Bayer Leverkusen and Brandt Hagen in the basketball league and was a German junior national player.

Career

Weber moved from Ober-Ramstadt to Bayer Leverkusen in the late 1990s and made his Bundesliga debut with the Rhinelanders in the 1998/99 season. He played (with one interruption) until 2006 under the Bayer cross and was mostly a supplementary player. In the 2003/04 season Weber was on loan from Brandt Hagen, stayed in the city after the club's bankruptcy in December 2013 and joined the second division BG DEK / Fichte Hagen before returning to Leverkusen for the 2004/05 season . Weber received his highest operating times (minutes per game) in Leverkusen in the 2002/03 season, when he was on the field for an average of 12:07 minutes per match. He set his best points in the Bundesliga in November 2002 when he scored 16 points against Oldenburg. In Leverkusen's dress he also played in European club competitions such as the Korac Cup , the EuroCup , the SuproLeague and the Challenge Cup.

In 2006 Weber moved to the Dragons Rhöndorf in the 2nd basketball league , in 2007 there was the next change to the regional league team BG Hagen, where he was a top performer in the following years.

National team

Weber was a member of the German U18 national team, with which he took part in the elimination round for the European Championship in 1998.
