Matthieu Saglio

Matthieu Saglio (* 1977 ) is a French jazz and world musician ( cello , composition ).

Act

Saglio studied classical cello at the Rennes Conservatory. He then moved to Valencia, where he was influenced by the local flamenco scene. Since 2002 he played in the group Jerez-Texas . In 2015 he founded the trio NES with the singer and cellist Nesrine Belmokh and the percussionist David Gadea , which released several albums. The counter-tenor Samuel Cattiau and the guitarist Quentin Dujardin brought him for their album Resonance (2015); with the violinist Léo Ullmann and the percussionist Bijan Chemirani they formed the quintet of the same name ( Illuminations , 2019).

After he had already presented the album CelloSolo under his own name in 2009 , he released the album El Camino de los viento on ACT in 2020 .
