Matula is a crime drama series of ZDF with Claus Theo gardener in the main role of Josef matula that aired 2017-2019. The discontinuation of the film series was announced in February 2020.

action

After his main employer left Germany, private detective Josef Matula had to reorient himself and began to work as a department store detective. After he was fired, a private case took him away from Frankfurt am Main and later to Mallorca . Since leaving his hometown, he has been traveling in a mobile home because his apartment was burned out. He is accompanied by a four-legged friend, which he initially only reluctantly accepts as a stowaway . But soon he becomes a loyal helper and he baptizes the animal Dr. Renz , which is an allusion to a lawyer with whom Matula was investigating.

In the series A Fall for Two , the last episode Last Words was broadcast in March 2013 . This also ended the role of the detective Matula, which until then had been embodied in a total of 300 episodes by Claus Theo Gärtner . At the age of 70, he dropped out of the series, but decided on the offer to continue as the main character in a film series.
