Benjamin Braeunlich , also Ben Zakrisson-Braeunlich (* 1979 in Hanau ) is a German screenwriter .

Life

Braeunlich studied film from 2002 to 2005 with a focus on screenwriting at the International Film School in Cologne . He had previously studied shipbuilding and marine engineering in Bremen . He is a partner in the publishing house of the authors and has been working as a screenwriter and showrunner for television and film productions in Germany and the USA as well as a consultant and dramaturge since completing his studies .

His work on Toter Winkel (director: Stephan Lacant , production: Hans W. Geißendörfer ) has been nominated for several prestigious awards, including the International Emmy Award 2018 in New York (USA), the Banff Media Award for the best international television film in Banff ( Canada) and the Civis - Europe's media prize for integration for the best fictional film. The film also won the Best Dramatic Film Award at the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival. Braeunlich wrote the scripts for several films in the ARD series " Tatort ". He was also the head author of the first season of the ZDF series " Professor T " with Matthias Matschke in the leading role and the creator of the spin-off of the three-part crime special "Matula" with Claus Theo Gärtner .

From 1997 to 1998 he lived in Wellington (New Zealand), from 2000 to 2001 in Bergen (Norway) and from 2007 to 2012 in Stockholm (Sweden).

Braeunlich has lived in Berlin with his daughter since 2012 . In October 2019 he got engaged to Ronja von Rönne .
