location

The hamlet of Mauerberg is located about three kilometers north of Garching an der Alz am Mörnbach on the Mühldorf – Freilassing railway line .

history

The place consisted of two houses in 1752 and three in 1845 and was shaped by its branch church, which belonged to the parish of Burgkirchen am Wald . When the Bavarian communities were formed in 1818, Mauerberg became part of the Engelsberg community in the Altötting district court . In 1858 the municipality of Engelsberg was renamed the municipality Garching, in 1951 Garching an der Alz.

In 1860 or according to other information in 1866, Mauerberg was separated as an exposition , and in 1908 the parish of Mauerberg was established. Mauerberg used to have its own stop on the Mühldorf – Freilassing railway line.
