Mauno Olavi Rintanen (born November 28, 1925 in Vaasa ; † July 13, 2000 ) was a Finnish football player in the position of goalkeeper .

Rintanen played for the Vaasan PS until 1952 after the end of the war . With this club he won the Finnish football championship in 1945 and 1948. 1952 to 1955 he guarded the gate of HJK Helsinki before moving to England. In four third division games he ran there for Hull City . This also made him the first Finn in English professional football.

For the Finnish national soccer team Rintanen played seven times between 1946 and 1954. 1953 and 1954 he was captain of the national team in a total of three games.

In 1953 he was named Footballer of the Year by both the Finnish Football Association and sports journalists.
