Maurice Tavant (born November 16, 1936 in Tournon-sur-Rhône ) is a former French boxer . He was the European lightweight professional boxer champion .

Career

After a short amateur period, Maurice Tavant became a professional boxer in 1959. His domicile was Lyon , his manager and trainer Robert Peronne. He played his first professional fight on October 25, 1959 in Paris , losing to his French compatriot Andre Olivier in the lightweight. He then remained undefeated in 18 fights.
