Maurus Kinter

Maurus Kinter (born February 21, 1842 in Brno , † June 26, 1928 in the Rajhrad Abbey ) was an Austrian archivist and librarian.

Life

In 1859 he entered the Benedictine monastery of Raigern as a novice . From 1860 to 1863 he studied philosophy and theology at the episcopal institution in Brno. In 1864 he made his profession and was ordained a priest . From 1864 to 1921 he was librarian at the Raigern monastery and from 1866 archivist (reorganization and cataloging of the monastery archive), from 1870 head of the physical museum. He founded and directed the " Studies and Communications on the History of the Benedictine Order and its Branches ", of which he was editor-in-chief from 1880-1910.
