17.15

Maury is a small impact crater on the northeastern front of the moon with numerous side craters. It is located on the eastern edge of Lacus Somniorum , with the craters Cepheus and Franklin to the east . The crater is bowl-shaped and little eroded.

The crater was named by the IAU after the oceanographer Matthew Fontaine Maury and the astronomer Antonia Maury .
