Regina Hastedt

Regina Margarete Hastedt (born October 23, 1921 in Flöha ; † October 28, 2007 in Chemnitz ) was a German writer .

Life

She was born the daughter of a stoker or driver. From 1928 to 1936 she attended elementary school in Chemnitz. From 1936 to 1939 she learned the profession of photographer , later she attended the Academy for Graphic Arts and Applied Arts in Leipzig . In 1944 she passed the master's examination as a photographer. After 1945 she worked as a press photographer for the Chemnitz “ Volksstimme ”. Since the photo material was scarce after the war, she began to write down her impressions and so began to write. From 1950 to 1955 she headed the “Working Group of Young Authors” in Chemnitz. In 1959 and 1962 she received the FDGB literature prize . After working on contemporary historical topics, she wrote two biographical novels about historical women in the 1980s.
