Max Planck Institute for Cell Biology

The Max Planck Institute for Cell Biology was a research institute based in Ladenburg .

It was founded in 1947 as the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Marine Biology . After the founding of the Max Planck Society as the successor organization to the Kaiser Wilhelm Society , it was renamed the Max Planck Institute for Marine Biology and in 1968 the Max Planck Institute for Cell Biology . In 1977 the institute was relocated from Wilhelmshaven to Ladenburg near Heidelberg. It was closed on July 1, 2003.
