Max Albermann

Max Karl Aloys Albermann (born November 10, 1870 in Cologne , † July 26, 1927 in Steinfeld Monastery ) was a German local politician and the last mayor of Kalk before it was incorporated into Cologne.

Max Albermann was born the son of the sculptor Wilhelm Albermann . In 1901 he took over the office of mayor of Kalk from Aloys Thumb, which he held until it was incorporated into Cologne on April 1, 1910. After the incorporation he worked as an alderman for the city ​​of Cologne . Until his illness-related retirement in 1923 he held the post of cultural department and first head of the sports department of the city of Cologne - with an interruption in the First World War when he was drafted for military service. His son Josef Albermann (1909–1941) was a doctor of geology .

Max Albermann died on July 26, 1927 and was buried in the Melaten cemetery (corridor 20 in E).

In the Cologne district of Kalk , a street and a school were named after Max Albermann in recognition of his achievements.
