Max Bentow (born 1966 in Berlin ) is a German actor and writer. He is best known for his psychological thrillers and crime novels about Commissioner Nils Trojan, which are set in Berlin.

life and work

Max Bentow completed an acting degree and then worked internationally as a stage actor.

In 2011 he published his first novel Der Federmann , as the first part of his crime novels about Commissioner Nils Trojan, at the publishing house Page & Turner in Munich, today part of the publishing group Random House . The second part followed in 2012 with Die Puppenmacherin and the third part in 2013 with Die Totentänzerin at this publisher. In January 2013, The Federmann also by Goldmann Verlag published, there also appeared after the doll maker in February 2014 and increased after its release for two weeks in the bestseller list of the mirror one. In March 2014, the novel was placed 34th in the paperback / fiction category. In July 2014, Das Hexenmädchen was published as the fourth volume in the Nils Trojan series only by Goldmann and rose to 11th place on the Spiegel bestseller list on August 4th, after which it was able to stay on the list for a few weeks. In December 2014 The Dead Dancer was published as part 3 by Goldmann and with Das Dornenkind the fifth part of the series was published in August 2015. This too rose to 11th place in the Spiegel list after it was published , and the audio book by Der Hörverlag also made it. In 2016 part 6 of the series, Der Traummacher , and in July 2018 the 7th part with The Butterfly Boy appeared .
