Max Bierbaum
Max Bierbaum (born September 14, 1883 in Münster , † November 2, 1975 ibid) was a German Roman Catholic priest .
Life
The son of the secret medical councilor Dr. med. Friedrich Bierbaum and his wife Maria geb. After graduating from high school in 1903, Lück studied philosophy and theology at the Paulinum Grammar School (Münster) at the Universities of Münster (with Joseph Greving and Georg Schreiber ) and Innsbruck. At Easter 1907 he entered the Collegium Borromaeum Münster and was ordained a priest on June 13, 1908 . After four years as chaplain at St. Aldegundis (Emmerich) , he studied from September 1912 to September 1913 in Rome and was chaplain at Campo Santo Teutonico . Then he became episcopal chaplain in Münster. From the spring of 1916 he was a voluntary clergyman for the Turkish Orient and was active in civil and military pastoral care in Asia Minor, Mesopotamia and Palestine. In November 1918 he was appointed chaplain to the St. Mauritz Church (Münster) . After completing his doctorate ( mendicant orders and secular clergy at the University of Paris. Texts and studies on the literary poverty and exemption dispute of the 13th century (1255–1272) ) in 1920 he was synod judge in Münster from 1924. After his habilitation ( cathedral priest Helfferich von Speyer and the Munich Nuncio Serra-Cassano ) in 1924, he taught from 1930 as a professor of missiology in Münster. He was editor-in-chief (1938–1941 and 1947–1952) of the journal Missionswissenschaft und Religionswissenschaft .
