Maximilian Felix Alexander Brinckman (born December 8, 1846 in Goldberg (Mecklenburg) , † May 22, 1927 ) was a German entrepreneur.

Life

Brinckman was born in Goldberg in 1846 as the eldest son of the poet John Brinckman and his wife Elise. After attending school in Güstrow and completing a four-year commercial apprenticeship in Rostock , he settled in Hamburg and later in Harburg . In 1869 he founded a timber business ( Max Brinckman KG, wood import, planing and molding , from January 1, 2002 Anders Brinckman GmbH & Co. KG ), in 1896 together with Arnold Mergell (1855-1929) and Carl Klaue († 1903) the Harburg Brinckman & Co linseed oil and varnish factory and, in 1906, the Harburger Oelwerke Brinckman & Mergell (HOBUM) . Brinckman was a Danish consul. In 1913 he was appointed to the Royal Prussian Council of Commerce.

In 1908, in honor of his father, Max Brinckman donated the Brinckman fountain in Güstrow, created by Wilhelm Wandschneider .

Brinckman's grave is in the old cemetery in Hamburg-Harburg.
