Max Degebrodt

Max Degebrodt (born May 30, 1885 in Berlin ; † November 16, 1976 ibid) was a German landscape painter of Late Impressionism .

life and work

After training as a decorative painter , he studied with Ernst Oppler , Paulvorgang and Lovis Corinth at the Berlin Art Academy . He worked for twelve years as a member of the deputation for art and education at the Berlin magistrate. Degebrodt lived in Grünheide from 1920 to 1945 and in Havelberg from 1945 to 1955 . His pictures can be found in Germany and abroad, in the art trade, in private and public ownership ( Prignitz Museum , Havelberg).

reception

In the autumn of 2008, the first retrospective with 60 paintings from the period 1920 to 1960 took place in the Prignitz Museum and in the Havelberg Cathedral . Another followed in the winter of 2008/09 in the Beeskow Castle Regional Museum . Since November 18, 2011 the Heimatverein Grünheide / Mark has been showing a permanent exhibition with 25 oil paintings by Max Degebrodt.
