Max Loy
Max Loy (full name: Maximilian Joseph Loy ; born June 18, 1913 in Nuremberg , † February 20, 1977 in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz ) was a German conductor , conductor and choirmaster .
Loy worked as music director at the Nuremberg Opera House since the 1930s . From 1941 to 1945 he worked in the Reich Office for Music Processing, where he and Wilhelm Hanke carried out a whole series of opera adaptations.
In 1954 Loy was a member of the artists' association. In 1956 he succeeded Karl Demmer as conductor of the teacher's choir, which he directed until 1966. He then founded the Philharmonic Choir in Nuremberg , which merged in 1968 with the Gesanggesellschaft Kulturverein-Laucherchor.
