The Chapf reservoir is an old water reservoir and a cultural asset of regional importance in the municipality of Windisch in the Swiss canton of Aargau .

Description and history

The Chapf reservoir on the road to Lindhof was built in 1898 with a capacity of 600 m³ and expanded to a total of 1000 m³ in 1927 and 1939. It is fed by the Mülligen spring water pumping station and the Schachen groundwater pumping station.

The superstructure of the reservoir, built in the neo-renaissance style, is a tower-like plastered building with lush artificial stone structure , to which the serrated corner cuboids and a sturdy console cornice give it a defiant character. The circular light openings are encompassed by arched positions over profiled consoles .
