Max Nemetz
Max Nemetz (born October 19, 1884 in Bremen , † July 2, 1971 in Herrenalb , Black Forest ) was a German actor .
Life
Max Nemetz was an actor at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Berlin. He was celebrated as the second Paul Wegener , but always fell short of its uniqueness. One review says: "Nemetz plays with great passion, agile, bitter, malicious and quarrelsome". During his Berlin years from 1918 to 1923, Nemetz appeared from time to time in silent films, including in his most famous role today as the unfortunate ship's captain in Nosferatu - A Symphony of Horror . Nemetz later left the film metropolis and did not film again until 1953 - mainly in television productions. He died during a spa stay in Bad Herrenalb in the Black Forest.
