Max Q (band)
Max Q is a rock band from Houston , Texas, whose members all active astronauts of NASA are.
The band was formed in 1987 by Robert Gibson , George Nelson and Brewster Shaw . The name Max Q is a technical term from space travel that describes the point of maximum load on take-off. According to Gibson, like the Space Shuttle, the band makes “a lot of noise and little music”.
So far there have been no official releases of the band, which appears primarily at NASA center festivities and at NASA-related events such as smaller parties, weddings and charity events.
The line-up of the band changes constantly as it consists only of active astronauts.
