Max stand
Max Standfuß (born June 6, 1854 in Schreiberhau [ today : Szklarska Poręb] in the Giant Mountains ; † January 22, 1917 in Zurich ) was a theologian and scientist .
Between 1892 and 1917 he worked as a private lecturer in entomology and in 1899 as adjunct professor at the University of Zurich and at the Swiss Federal Polytechnic . He became famous for his research in entomology. From the end of the 19th to the beginning of the 20th century, he carried out intensive breeding experiments with butterflies over a period of about 30 years (Standfuß'sche temperature experiments ).
