Max Straus

Max Straus (born May 27, 1861 in Ulm ; died after 1939 in Switzerland ) was a German entrepreneur and consul general .

Life

In 1886 he joined his father’s company, bed spring factory Straus & Cie. a. In 1898 he bought the house, called the Schlössle, from Dr. by Alsatian, royal personal physician, as a summer house. In 1914 he made this available to the community for a day nursery. In 1914 he was one of the simple millionaires in the city of Stuttgart.

Max Straus was the Royal Danish-Icelandic Consul General, Chairman of the Union Club, member of the Israelite Upper Church Authority and the Israelite Upper Council.

In 1939 he went to Switzerland.

His son Manfred Straus was born on December 10, 1878 . He also had a son Leo and a daughter who was married to Fritz Berliner .
